Who Ya Gonna Call?

London Big Half Marathon

Who you gonna call at the Virgin London Marathon 2018?! GHOSTBUSTERS!!

It was a tough day filled with challenges but with some great teamwork, we successfully passed our Guinness World Record Half Marathon trial in London on 4th March  and will be going for a brand new 6 person Guinness World Record on April 22nd!

We could not believe the amazing reception we got in London and it made our day to see how excited all the kids (and big kids) got when they saw the Ghostbusters zooming past. We can’t even imagine what it will be like on the real day. We are so proud to be running in memory of Tanyel, (Tanyel’s smile ) and  (Rob ,Guy and Alex ? (Clic Sargent)

See you all in London next month please please donate.

Check out my JustGiving Page for CLIC Sargent. Help us raise more.

2018 Kilimanjaro Marathon

Kilimanjaro

A message from the living legend Andy Sharpe.

I successfully completed the 2018 Kilimanjaro marathon last Sunday and it was the toughest but most incredible marathon I have run to date. From local kids running alongside me and Chloe, to literally having to avoid being run over for 26.2 miles route, it had everything. We were also two of only sixteen British runners last Sunday which is very special.

As most of you are aware, I dedicate most of my life away from work to fundraising. After raising over £30,000 over 6 years for the UK Children’s Cancer Charity Clic Sargent, I have now switched my fundraising to supporting Tanyel’s Smile. Since losing Tanyel to Cancer over two years ago, her parents have raised over £20,000 for Clic Sargent who provided amazing support to Tanyel and her parents during her three-year cancer battle.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Tanyel but it’s such a honour to help keep her memory alive and fulfil Tanyel’s final wish of helping children in Northern Cyprus, who don’t have the same support network that most kids in the UK recieve.

I’ve set my first fundraising milestone at £20,000 for the Charity, so any donations towards the 2018 Kilimanjaro marathon would be amazing, thank you ❤

Portsmouth Half Marathon

Portsmouth Half Marathon
This weekend saw Cey complete his first Portsmouth Coastal Half Marathon with his fellow Clic Sargent friends . It was a tough course, very slippery some areas, with the run taking competitors through mud.  However, even in the cold and wet Cey still managed to grab a medal and a good time of 2.hrs 17 mins.
Together we raised £350 for Tanya’s Smile charity.  We’d once again thanking everyone for their support and generosity.

A Message of Hope

Gulay and Cey in Cyprus

On Monday 29th January 2018 we visited the oncology ward in Northern Cyprus to give thirty gifts to the children and young adults who are being treated there. The next day we were privileged to be invited back to watch the kids receive their half term reports.

The charity, Tanyel’s Smile, which we started in memory of beautiful daughter has taken its first steps. This was Tanyel’s last wish. We are very proud to have had an amazing, inspirational daughter who blossomed into a wonderful young lady with a heart of gold.  She had a huge, positive impact on so many people .

The best gift in the world was to have you in our lives baby girl . We will continue to help and put a little smile on the faces of children fighting cancer. I hope you are proud of us princess as we are forever proud of you Tanyel.

After meeting the doctors, parents, children and young adults; seeing the support they provide and need. and getting massive hugs, we want to redouble our efforts to do all we can to raise money for for the children and families who need so much help .

Thank you to everyone in Northern Cyprus and the UK who have helped and continue to help us to build this dream for Tanyel. Together we can give a little hope and so much joy.

Gulay and Cey xx

Cey and Gulay are travelling to Cyprus in January and will take the opportunity to liaise with the Oncology unit in Nicosia and meet young children and their families diagnosed with cancer to offer our first steps of support from Tanyel’s smile charity.  Further information and updates will follow soon.
